All About Us.

About Us

New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding Foundation NFP encompasses the pride, passion, and teachings of horsemanship of the late Charles and Christa Thompson of New Parkway Riding Stables, and their daughter, Martha Thompson-Hoyt.  We believe that the power of the horse will guide our participants on the path to their new beginnings and new benchmarks in their lives.

Volunteers

Looking for additional Super Heros to join our dedicated Volunteer team!

They groom horses, clean tack, help with fundraising; many work with our participants as side walkers along with assisting in public relations campaigns.  These dedicated men, women and young adults are the Super Hero’s of New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding foundation.
Their tasks and time commitments are different as well as the varied background of the volunteers but the goal is the same- make a difference in the lives of our equestrian participants.
Some of our volunteers are lifelong animal lovers, others have an affinity with differently abled individuals…All wanted to roll up their sleeves and help make a difference with the New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding Center in Palos Hills IL
Whatever your skills, whatever your time commitment- we encourage you to get involved  as we will provide you the practical guidance  and training to see what its like give your time to the riders and animals and then  experience the joy of what you obtain in return!

Equines for Heroes Event

On Sunday, November 4th, a beautiful crisp Autumn day in Palos Hills, New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding Foundation held an interactive Equines for Heroes event.  Participants from PAWWS (Paws Assisting Wounded Warriors) had activities in horse care/grooming, hand walking and riding.  Sponsorship of this inspiring event was the Ozinga Corporation.  The Ozinga Corporation is proud to support and provide assistance that strengthens our communities.  A big thank you to our volunteers Carol, Cindy, Kurt, Allison, Lisa, Belle, Judy, Greg, Brenda, Dana, Heather, Martha, and Sandy as we could not have provided this assistance without your dedication to the human/animal bond.
